Tamil Movies Vijayakanth Movie Narasimha Download Vijayakant is an Indian actor and politician. He is the founder of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam party in Tamil Nadu, a member of the Parliament of India, and a three-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. As an actor he has played lead roles in many movies in languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Vijayakant was born on 27 December 1951 to A.M. Murugadoss and Sivasubramonia in Pernamalai, in the present Tamil Nadu. He was named Senthil Kumaran at the age of one. He had his early schooling at Pernamalai. After completing his 10th standard in 1967, he joined Stella Maris College, Chennai. Vijayakanth started acting when he was 16 years old being inspired by M.G. Ramachandran's "Arasa Katru" (1966) where he played the supporting role of a friend to MGR's character. He made his debut as an actor in N. T. Rama Rao's "Thavam" (1968). Vijayakanth took up the role of one of the lead actors in MGR's "En Aasaiyya Velaikkaran" (1969) opposite Gemini Ganesan, who later gave him an opportunity to play the lead role in "Vaalaku Vidum Puli" (1970). He acted in "Karpagam" (1971) directed by C. V. Sridhar. He was introduced to the Telugu film industry in 1975 with the film "Kalyana Prema". His debut in Kannada films was in the movie "Chakravyuha" in 1978, directed by Hunsur Krishnamurthy. His first Malayalam film was "Thannir Mavattaan". He also acted in Sinhala films. He holds a Guinness Record for acting in most number of films as lead actor, i.e., 60 movies from 1978 to 2007, across all the four south Indian languages of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. He has directed three films, the first being "Thoonga Nagaram" which was released in 2003. After the success of his directorial ventures "Thoonga Nagaram" and "Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai", he directed his third movie, "Dharma Durai" in 2006. Vijayakanth made his debut in politics during the 1989 Lok Sabha elections by contesting for Lok Sabha from Madurai where he was defeated by P. Chidambaram (10 Loksabha).
